3. 阅读后的活动（post-reading activities）
此阶段侧重于对课文中语言形式的掌握和运用。在前面“自上而下（Top-down processing）”——“自下而上（Bottom-up processing）”后，再进行一次“自上而下（Top-down processing）”的阅读。我们可先组织学生做一些语言形式的基本练习，如本课需重点掌握的词汇、短语、结构等。练习的选择和设置应注意语言形式与意义的联系，同时也应该适当设计一些开放性的活动。
（1）阅读策略活动可用任务来评估是否理解阅读语篇，我们可以采取以下几种方式： 1）给阅读文章起个小标题。 2）回答出几个与课文相关的小问题。 3）猜猜几个生词的意思。 4）翻译文中几个划线句子的意思。 5）阅读完成填空。 6）阅读完成选择。 7）阅读判断对错等。通过这些活动，教师可以确定我们的教学策略是否恰当，如有需要，我们可以及时调整教学策略。
（2）阅读技能活动教师可根据文章的内容选择这样一些口头或书面的活动形式：比如复述、缩写、改写、续写课文或其中的一段，或涉及课文内容的记者采访，课文情景下的角色扮演，围绕作者观点的正、反方辩论等。这些活动可以帮助让学生进一步熟悉课文内容，巩固所学的语言形式，认识语篇的结构层次，并学会创造性地灵活运用本课所掌握的词汇，语法等语言形式。比如这样一篇阅读材料： Australia is one of the seven continents of the world. The weather in Australia is usually hot and dry,and the centre of the country, the ‘outback’， is a desert. Australian farmers have big farms. They have many sheep on the farms. Australian wool is very famous. There are crocodile farms too. Crocodiles are very frightening and have very sharp teeth. There are many other interesting animals in Australia. Dingos are dogs, but they do not live in people’s houses. They are wild and live in the outback. Kangaroos and koalas live in the outback too.
