¡¡¡¡Step 1. Warm-up activities Play commands.

¡¡¡¡Call children to the front of the class to call out the commands they now know. The rest of the class responds. Include Point to the…£¡ Brush your teeth£¡ Comb your hair£¡ etc.

¡¡¡¡Step 2. Let’s listen and say

¡¡¡¡1.Ask the class to look at the page. Elicit as much information as I can in English by asking questions. For example, where are the children? What can you see in the pictures? What are the children doing?

¡¡¡¡2.Play the cassette or read the dialogue. The children listen and follow in their books.

¡¡¡¡3.Play the cassette again, pausing after each utterance for the children to point at the corresponding picture. Perform a simple gesture to indicate the meaning.

¡¡¡¡4.Play the cassette again. This time ask individual students to repeat the utterances. Alternatively, divide the class into groups.

¡¡¡¡1.Divide the class into sections. Give each section a role in the conversation.

¡¡¡¡2.The whole class acts the dialogue with each group saying the corresponding text.

¡¡¡¡3.The children now act out the dialogue in small groups or pairs.

¡¡¡¡Step 3. Let’s learn

¡¡¡¡1.Play the cassette or say each word. The children point to the corresponding picture.

¡¡¡¡2.Point to the pictures randomly. Say the word. The class repeats.

¡¡¡¡3.Ask individuals to say the words. Correct any pronunciation mistakes.

¡¡¡¡4.In pairs, the children take turns to point to the pictures and say the words.

¡¡¡¡Step 4. Let’s practise

¡¡¡¡1.Get the students to look at the drawing below. Make five sentences to say where you can see each thing or animal.

¡¡¡¡2.Get the students to ask and write down They can talk about it and make a dialogue in pairs.

¡¡¡¡3.Use these words: behind, in front of, on, in, above.

¡¡¡¡4.Get some pairs to act their dialogue.
